Aligning Text/Grabbing Text

G

I am still exploring OneNote. Patrick it has become more "cool" than "neat."

When I click on a note sheet and type a note I realize that I can then move the note around. If I click and add another note I can move it around as well, but there appears to be a snap-to-grid feature activated because unless I hold down the ALT key it difficult to get two sections of text to align properly.

Can this "snap-to-grid" feature be turned off or the size of the grid be reduced?
Is there a way to select several text (I will call them pods for lack of a known better term) and align right, top, center, etc?
If you have a ruled notepaper is there someway to then easily have the text you type align with the lines?

If a type a bit of text in Word, what is the quickest way to get that text to OneNote without having to open the program? I tried "Print to OneNote" but that resulted in a "picture" of the text in OneNote that was non-editable.

Thanks.

Aloha Greg,

....ah, wait. You said "non-editable". So you want to send editable text
to OneNote from Word. Off-hand I can't think of any way to do that without
opening OneNote.

I suppose you could probably write an add-in that does opens OneNote, inserts
the text, then closes OneNote.

Ben,

Thanks for the gentle nudge. On bads days a Word MVP might reply "learn to
use the menu keys" ;-)

So you can't change the grid size. Too bad.

I'm using OneNote2007. All my experience with it was gained over the last
two days.

Ben,

Yes I tried printing to the OneNote printer and it just puts an non-editable
image in OneNote. Unfortunately I am not up to the task of writing AddIns
that deal with OneNote. Would be a nice feature though wouldn't it.

Aloha? I spent 7 years in paradise during two tours in the Navy 94-98 ant
200-2003. Loved every minute of it.

Cheers and thanks for the replies.
