An indicator to move on

Is there a way or a setting in PPT 2000, to display an indicator on
the screen that lets you know when to click the mouse?

Let me explain...a few of my slides have animation effects etc. on
them. It is kind of vital to the presentation and the content, that
these animations flow themselves. So, what I want to do, is set an
option or something, that will display an icon, discreetly, indicating
that you can now advance to the next slide.

Any ideas?

For cases like this, I usually add a small arrow to the slide and have it
animate in sequence after all the other animations are done. That way it
appears only when it is time to move on. This arrow can be an active
button that goes to the next slide. If you put this on every slide, you
might even try putting the presentation in kiosk mode so that the user
CAN'T go on until this button appears.
