Analysis Services 2005 and OWC 11

Techno_Dex

Has anyone had problems with OWC11 working in conjunction with Anaylsis
Services 2005? We have developers that have been working on cubes, other
working on OWC 11 coding, we have seen some funny things though when parts
of the project are brought together. It appears as though Anaylsis Services
2005 installs a newer version of OWC 11 than can be downloaded from MS. Can
anyone confirm this or point me in the right direction to get the updated
executable for distribution to clients? (The clients don't need Analysis
Services to run the cubes, only OWC)

TIA

You can't distribute the OWC either. Compare the object guid with the last
OWC 11 version to see if there is a difference. According to MS, there
isn't, but you never know.

I will check the GUIDs when I get the change, do you happen to know where in
the Registry the object is? As for the distribution of the OWC, look at the
following link

Concerning the links, this is what i was saying. You can't distribute the
OWC, the best you can do is point clients to the download site or instruct
them to install it from CD.

What do u mean by distribute ?

U can install owc11 for instance on a machine that runs officexp and then
use a program for setting the correct license to owc11 ?

Im about to do so on monday so i hope so.
