Animated Gifs

Im running Powerpoint '97 in Win XP - no problems there. But when I import an
animated .gif into my presentation it just shows as a regular picture and
won't animate??? I'm tearing my hair out trying to get it to work and I'm
sure it has a simple cause - Any suggestions would be appreciated? Thanks.

Sorry DM,

Animated Gifs were not supported until PPT 2000. The only solution that
will animate a GIF is to upgrade to a newer version of PowerPoint.

Oh and don't worry, we all suffer PRHL* at one time or another.

There is another solution - - convert the animated GIF to an AVI. See
