Animated gifs

I set up a pool for the Amazing Race. Each participant has a gif or jpeg
image to represent them. Is it possible to use animated gifs as images in
Word 2003? If not is there an Office Program that will support animated gifs?

Animated GIFs can be inserted in Word documents, but they will not animate
unless the document is saved as a Web page *and* viewed in a browser. I
believe PowerPoint supports animation, however.

I saved the document as a web page, unfiltered. When I put it in files at my
site, it was actually 100kb smaller and showed as a hml doc. However when I
opened it in files, there were no pictures, only white spaces with the red x
in them.

When you save as a Web page, the graphics are saved separately, usually in a
subfolder with the name <filename>_files. You have to upload the contents of
this folder as well.
