animations powerpoint 2007

I have just loaded Office Pro 2007 and am having numerous problems on
Toshiba M7. In particular, PowerPoint just stops responding to clicks, most
often during a custom animation. problems include:

1. Cant move to a different slide in design mode.
2. In custom animation, all items become "unnamed"

I have repaired Office but to no avail. Any suggestions?
