Annotating images?

P

Peter

Is there any way to add notes, arrows etc to images/screen captures in
OneNote? I love the screen capture tool when making notes about an
application's usability, but miss not being able to add text notes to enhance
the information in the picture and point out where the problems are.

When the clipping is copied to the SideNotes/QuickNotes
section, it is placed in a notes container.

Drag the picture outside of the container, delete the
container, drag the picture to where you want it, then
right-click and select "Set picture as background".

Then you will be able to add text/Ink annotations on top
of the picture.

You can click elsewhere on the page, type the annotation, then drag it over
the picture to the right spot. Once you have the annotation over the image,
you can click in it and edit as much as you like.

Ink works directly on top of the picture from the get-go.

Thanks Chris, so to summarise:

1. Insert the image/screen capture
2. Type the caption text and drag text box over image
3. Draw an arrow by hand

Could you include an annotation tool in future where you can lock the
arrow-head on the document/image and have the tail stick to the text box when
you move it? Like Visio does for its boxes.

It would be really nice if there was a way to add an arrow and not have to
draw it by hand. Can I atleast copy a Arrow made in MS Word so I don't have
a strangelooking hand drawn arrow in my document making it look like
something a kindergardener drew?

Yes, it's easy enough to copy & paste an arrow from Word etc.

I for one take a different way:
Not only for screen-clippings nt especially for annotating images for a
very long time I have been using "SnagIt"[1] which comes with everything
needed (tons of "stamps" [very many arrows]).

Just try it out. There's a fully functional "trial".
