I have a client that has a New Compaq Presario running XP home. He has
Office 97 installed. I have given him an installation disk for an Access
app that SHOULD install the Access runtime. He gets an error message
"Office System Pack requires NT 4.0 Service pack 6 or later.." and
installation ends. I have set up a test box with XP Home only and the
installation runs fine.
I saw a previous post where there was a language setting causing a similar
problem with a different error message. We tried that just for grins - no
luck.
BTW - this is a user in another city, 200 miles away, that had to be
carefully walked through the difference between Internet Explorer and File
Explorer.
any ideas?
