Another Windows Installer problem

I have a similar problem to Windows installer from 7/6
Although it has this problem form the start. I initially upgraded 2003 to
2007 on a vista machine and had this issue with the windows installer screens
popping up each time an office app is run. I tried removing office 2007
which lead to the same error but in an endless loop for Front page 2003
(occurred even without trying to start the program. ) I eventually was able
to uninstall it and reinstalled office 2007. Smae errors.
This is what occurrs when starting an app.
A rectangular box with
Windows installer then
Please wait while windows configures microsoft office enterprise 2007

For Excel
An error box with
stdole32.tlb written in it
then a
Large square window
Please wait ...setup files then a large box with
Configuration Progress
Configuring microsoft Office Enterprise 2007
The others do not have the error box pop up.
Eventually the program will run.

I tried downloading the msicuu2.exe (which warns against using on office
2007) but was reccomended in the other thread, but even though it installs I
can't find it anywhere to try to run it.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Stuart

For curiosities sake, while logged on to an account that has
Administrator rights, have you tried opening an Office application?

I have only tried it with my regular signon. I guess I am not sure how to
tell if I have administrator rights but it is the only signon for the
computer. How do I check?

I did figure that out and I was running it as administrator.
I tried opening an office app from safe mode and received the following
message
The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the
Windows Installer is not correctly installed, Contact your support personel
for assistance.
It would not load the program.

One other issue I have found is that the search function seems to be broken
as well. I am getting a message this file does not have a program associated
with it for performing this action. Create ab association in the Set
Associations control panel.

OK I have already seen this and downloaded it even though it says not to use
for office 2007. I ran the file and it said it installed but I can't find
out where it went to run it. It is not listed in the start programs menu.
Should I run this for office 2007? How do I start it?
Thanks again,
Stuart

I have been having this problem.

I uninstalled , reinstalled, deleted registry keys folders etc. All to no
avail.

I was about to format drive and start again but found the solution.

It is here
http://blog.tiensivu.com/aaron/archi...missions!.html

It doesn't mention Office but definitely solved my problem. It is a
download from microsoft so should be safe and took me about 15 minutes to run.

I didn't think it would work for 1 minute but now excel and word etc load
instantly with no errors.

Hi
Can you please try this.

Point to START >>> RUN >>> type " WinWord /Safe" without quotes and click
ok. Try same steps for all the office programs that you have problem with
and check if it works fine.

For Excel - START >>> RUN >>> type " EXCEL /Safe" without quotes

For PowerPoint START >>> RUN >>> type " Powerpnt /Safe" without quotes

If application safe works then try these steps.

* Try running Office applicaiton Exe file from office install
folder(C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12) as an Adminstrator.

* Follow KB 313222 to reset security settings to default.

What's the version of Windows running and is it windows 32 bit or 64 bit OS?

Regards,

Sunny

You put a link to a blog that had the solution, but since then the person has
updated the blog and I don't know what file you were referring to. Can you
say again how you fixed the problem?
