I have windows vista installed, have Office Professional 2003 installed. If I
upgraded or bought OEM version, can I install Basic, Standard, Sm Business
and would the upgrade not touch the other programs that are currently in
Professional 2003 like access, publisher etc? or I installed lesser OEM
version of 2007, could I then install the other programs from 2003?

Hi Buster,

The OEM products are generally not upgrades and are limited to installing and activating on a single machine and can't be
transferred to another.

You can choose any Office 2007 upgrade package. Those can be transferred at a later time to a new machine and allow two machine
activations to start. The package you pick doesn't have to be the same one you have. The programs not included in the smaller new
packages should be left in place. Use the custom installation choice when installing to be able to set each option in that regard
that you want.

Bob,
If I am understanding you, I could purchase 2007 Standard upgrade, install
if as upgrade to my 2003 Professional and Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and
Outlook would be upgraded to 2007 and publisher and Access would stay on the
computer as 2003 and be merged into the new versions, is that correct?
Thanks

Hi Buster,

Publisher and Access older versions will be left in place. They will continue to be Office 2003 versions (they don't 'merge' into
2007) and you'll need to apply both the 2003 and 2007 Office updates when updates become available. Use the custom installation
choice to be able to control it and review what is going to happen before it happens :)
