I have several clients complaining about locking up in word and excel. The
atmosphere is users have new computers with windows XP SP2 and MS Office 2003
SP1 installed and norton 9.0 corp.

All the latest updates have been installed. While working in word the
application will hang and the user will have to do a CTRL-ALT-DEL to end
task. When I look in the event log I see the following:

I am having the same problem. So far I have come up with th
following solutions, but haven't tried them yet

Norton Corporate Edition does not have an Office Plugin. But if yo
had
an older version of Norton installed on the computer before you got
Corporate Edition, then the Office Plugin from the older version coul

still be registered in Windows, even if you uninstalled the older
version. Try searching for a file named OFFICEAV.DLL on the hard driv

(include hidden and system files and folders). This file is the .dll
for the Norton Office Plugin. If you find it, note the folder where i

is located, and use the "regsvr32 /u" method described in
http:/

I just discovered that I had two mapped drives that wer
no longer connected to anything. I unmapped them but the
still displayed in Windows Explorer. So I rebooted an
now my Word save-as works!
