Applying bullets hangs word

Hello users...

I have recently upgraded from Office 2000 to Office XP. When I try to edit
the bullet points in a doc created in Word (Office 2000) , Word (office XP)
hangs with an hour glass only...no error message.....any thoughts on why my
office 2000 docs dont work in word from office XP?

Did you apply the bullets using a style? If so, Maggie the document
into a new document based on the correct template: copy and paste
everything except the last paragraph mark in each section to the new
doc
