Applying Themes to Presentations - Part Deux

I am still having issues applying a new Theme to a presentation when the
existing presentation is using a Theme w/ multiple masters. For some reason
the master slides are accumulating when the Theme is changed instead of
dropping the master slides from the original presentation (this happens when
I apply the Theme to the entire presentation or to selected slides). I am NOT
having this experience when the original presentation has only one master.

We currently have thirteen Themes... only four of these have only one master
slide, the remaining Themes have two (6) or three (3) master slides. I am
thinking that within the next few months I will need to develop somewhere
between 6-10 MORE Themes and I'm not sure if they will have multiple masters
or not.

Theoretically most users will use only 1-2 of these Themes on a regular
basis depending on which group they work in...but one of these groups will be
using all three of the Themes that have three master slides so we really need
to figure this out.

I have tested the Themes on two computers (both running XP/Office 2007 SP1)
and have achieved the same results. I realize that SP2 has been released,
but seeing as they just finished upgrading the entire company to XP/Office
2007 from 2000/Office 97...I'm not holding my breath that we'll be updated
anytime soon.

I would appreciate any thoughts or ideas? This has the potential to be a
HUGE headache for us!
