archiving emails by date-- some emails weren't archived

Hi everyone,
I have been trying to manually archive my email messages
(no autoarchive settings have been configured on my inbox
or the subfolders in my inbox) and noticed that when I
set the archive "date" some emails do not get archived. I
am running Windows XP Pro and Office 2000 all serivce
packs. The same thing happened to a co-worker who is
Windows XP Pro and Office XP.

Any help would be appriciated....
