.asf file in powerpoint

I tried (for the 1st time) to insert an .asf file (884 kb) into a powerpoint
presentation. It appears as a still shot, and when I click on it to start
the clip, it turns into a blurry mess and freezes. Any suggestions to
resolve this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Which version of PowerPoint, and how are you inserting the .ASF file?

I have the .asf file and the powerpoint .ppt presentation in the same folder.
