ask to accept EULA each time app open

For some reason we have a laptop now that suddenly started
prompting to accept the EULA each time a. Office app is
opened. It prompts twice then dumps you into Word.
Office XP was registered over a year ago and it's worked
fine since, till now. Tried a repair but got same
result.
