What version of MS Project are you using?
Project versions 2002 and earlier included a workgroup message handler
that could be used to send tasks by email. The workgroup message
handler was a separate download for Project 2003.

If you choose to use the workgroup message handler, I suggest searching
the project newsgroups using google groups for additional information
about using Lotus Notes. I recall several years back there being some
exchanges about using Notes as the email handler.
