Assigning Macros

I am trying to assign a macro to an object using Excel
2002. At one time, this used to be a simple matter of
clicking on the option available in a drop down box.
However, this particular feature seems to have dropped
from my being able to find it. I have also written the
macro code out within the object properties but so far
cannot get it to function.
All helpful advice appreciated.

Scott,
I am using 2000. I inserted a bmp file, right clicked the image and
ASSIGNED a macro from the menu. That opened the macro listing. It even ran
ok.
