Assigning resources to summary task

Hi,
I am adding resources to summary tasks instead of the
individual tasks in some sections of my WBS. When I go to
task usage view, I see a large number of items in the
unassigned section with no resource assigned. Is this
going to affect the resource usage numbers in any way?

Hi,

You seem to assume that assigning resources to summary tasks is equivalent
to assigning them to the subtasks. RThat is not true. Resources assignend to
a summary task are assigned for the duration of the summary task so when
subtasks overlap or when ther eis a gap between the tasks work is not the
same in both cases.
It is by far preferrable to assign resoruces to tasks.
