Assigning resources

I have 12 resources (people) working for me that I need to assign tasks. 5 of
them have specifics tasks they can only do. The other 7 can work anywhere. Is
there a way to assign those 5 people then have Project assign the other 7 to
the remaining tasks?

Hi,

If you differentiate between those resources i.e. 1 man, 1 resource,
assigning them to a task means they ALL have to work on that task, not ANY
but ALL.
You can also not differentiate and use a resource "General" for instance,
and assign that resource.

So there is no way to have Project automatically assign the resources that
have availability?

Hi,

Project Server has such a functionality, but Project Standard or
Professional haven't.
