Assoicate PowerPoint

I have read the other questions similiar to this but none of the hints seem
to work for me. I have PPT 2007 Home/Student version SP1. Somehow i have
associated PPT with Quickplay. I have no Detect and Repair on the Help menu.

HELP!!!

If you go into the control panel on windows / choose add/remove programs/
then find the microsoft office 2007 (powerpoint 2007) entry.

click on it and choose "change" - there then should be an option to repair
(you may need your original cd)

In Windows Explorer, right-click on a PowerPoint file, choose "Open With".
Choose PowerPoint and BEFORE you click "OK", check the box at the bottom
that says "Always open this type of file etc etc". That should repair the
association.
No need to do a repair install at all.

Except that a detect and repair will probably fix ALL file associations to
PowerPoint not just the one.

In 2007 You can find repair in Office Button > PowerPoint Options > Resources

Went to Control Panel, clicked Change which brought up the Repait option for
H&S 2007. It started but then got an error 1406 which said it did not have
the rights to write to the registry. Since I am the only user of this laptop
and it is mine i am admin level. What now?
