Attachment limit issue

Greetings:

Interesting case. I work in an office [Exchange Server 2003/ Outlook
2003]. There is no limit as far as I know for attachment limits. I have
sent attachments over 10mb to others within this network. Email editing is
done through MS Word. Today I attempted to send a zipped file of 54Mb to
another within the network. The message: " Maximum limit exceeded" came not
from Outlook but from MS Word. Is there a setting that would allow the email
to be sent? Advice sought.

I suspect this error message came from the server indicating that your mailbox is over limit. How large a mailbox does your organization allow?

Much thanks for the timely reply. I did check with the network administrator
and he confirms that there are no size limits for incoming or outgoing. He
thought that there might be a group policy in effect that might impose a
limit but three hours have passed and he reports nothing. The banner at the
top of the error message definitely said Microsoft Word. Much thanks for
your efforts on my behalf.
