auto-linking performance problem/solution/bug

using outlook 2007, bcm sp1 with shared database and remote users:

After experiencing lots of bcm performance problems. i implemented
pollinginterval=180000 and confirmed that the pollinginterval worked.
suddenly after a couple of days, my pc started locking up again for 10-20
seconds at a time. I used sql server profiler sql trace to see that bcm sql
server was getting lots of queries on the bcm database from my machine
searching for subject strings from my email. This lead me to check out the
bcm e-mail auto-linking feature (which I am sure I disabled upon
installation). It had all directories checked. I unchecked all these
directories, but my bcm was still busily chatting with excbcm. I finally
found a file called

C:\Documents and Settings\kva\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Business Contact Manager\Cache\eaa-queue

Killed outlook, renamed the file, restarted outlook and all the chatter goes
away except for the 3 minute polling interval i have configured.

to resolve this issue

1. use the outlook menu: Business contact manager -> manage email auto-linking

2. Uncheck all addresses and folders.
3. Shutdown outlook.
4. Rename/remove the file C:\Documents and Settings\XXXX\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Business Contact Manager\Cache\eaa-queue
where XXXX is the local users name
4. Restart outlook.

questions -
are there any negative side effect of removing eaa-queue?

there appears to be a serious bug(s) around configuration of auto-linking,
turning it on/off. given the huge number of posts on performance, this
change has had a far larger impact than pollinginterval and syncinterval
though in our experience all 3 are important.
