Auto Text Not Working

I have a user that is trying to insert the filename and
path at the footer of a Word document. When she tries
this all she gets at the bottom of the page is FILENAME
followed by a couple of odd characters.

I've tried un-installing and re-installing Word logged in
as the user with administrative privileges but the same
thing still happens. The other crazy thing is that if I
log into that machine as the administrator it works fine.
The file is on the network but even after copying over to
the hard drive it still wouldn't work.

Has anyone seen this before? Any help would be
appreciated.

Would the odd characters happen to be { } or \p?

If so, toggle field codes in your document with ALT+F9

Those were the characters and ALT+F9 worked.

Thanks for helping out, I would have been here forever
trying to figure that out.
