Automatic Animation

Is there any way to stop automatic animation part way through and then start
it from the point where it was stopped? Meaning (here is my example):
I have 4 shapes, each one is timed.
A circle flies in (I talk for about two minutes) and I have the next shaped
ready to fly in after my two minutes of talking (so a square flies in two
minutes after the circle), then a triangle a minute later, and then another
square.

If I have my briefing timed but someone interupts me I want to be able to
stop the animation and after I have answered the question, I want to be able
to pick up where I left off.
Can this be done?

Thanks in advance.

There is no "pause" capabilities with PPTs animation timeline... :(

The best option may be to divide the animation over several slides. You can
then go back to the slide with the animation that begins close to your
'pause.'
