I was wondering if there is any way to automatically reply
to people to let them know that I am out of the office
without a server? ie There is no "out of office" option in
my tool bar.

You can create a message rule for this.

Yes, you can create a message rule to reply but it will reply to ALL
senders, including spam so your address will be confirmed as Good to the
spammers.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the SWEN virus, all mail sent to my personal account will be deleted
without reading.
