automatic timings won't stick

Having difficulty getting slide transition to automatically advance after
I've saved my ppt to disk and moved to another machine.
I have re-checked:
- Automatically advance after :06 , applied to all slides. (some slides I
have manually changed to 10 seconds, but still need to auto advance), and
-Setup show and 'use timings if present' is marked.

First and last slides only are 'on mouse click'.

What is so obvious that I'm missing?

Did you use 'rehearse timings' on this presentation?
