AutoText - AutoShape

Janette

I have programmers who need to add numbers over screen prints to reference
parts of the screen shot. I thought I could have them create an autoshape,
or create a wordart and then add this to become an AutoText entry or would
like to assign a keyboard command. Any ideas?

Since you want them to effectively put one graphic over another, why not
create a single page with nothing but a set of graphical identity numbers
and get your guys to simply copy and paste from it. Take a look at the
Exercise "overlaying text" in www.drawingwithword.com

Hope this helps

If you use a screen capture utility such as SnagIt (www.techsmith.com), its
own editor allows you to add arrows, annotations, callouts, etc. Within
Word, however, you can insert text boxes or AutoShapes with text in them,
formatted as In Front of Text. When I have to add a lot of these to a
picture (in my case, I often have to add numbers identifying subject
properties on a map), I generally find it easiest to create one, format it
to my taste, and then copy/paste as required, changing the numbers in the
pasted copies.
