AVI file loops

I have an avi file imbedded on a powerpoint slide as a
custom animation. It loops to its beginning regardless of
settings in the timing dialog, ie the "loop back to
beginning" box is unchecked. How do I get it to stop
looping?

Are you sure it is an AVI and not an animated GIF? The reason I'm asking you
this question is because you mention that the file is "embedded" and
PowerPoint normally only "links" AVI files.

Also, do get back with the version of your PowerPoint and Windows.
