back-up of contacts/emails before re-format?

Hi,
I want to reformat my hdd & reinstal WinXP as my (12 mth
old) comp is starting to run really slow! If I want to
backup my contacts and old emails (& favorites in
explorer), how do I go about this? Is there just one .pst
file I need for the Outlook part of this back-up and if
so, where do i find the .pst file?
