Background default is grey

My background default is grey. I would like to change it to no background
colour. If I do this manually nothing happens. The 'No backgound" Icon does
not seem to work.
What can I do?

Look at your Personal Information, is there a color scheme?
Are you doing a web page?

I am doing a booklet. Whenever I insert a new page into my publication it
comes up with a dark grey background but I dont want any background colour!!!
Just plain. When I open the background menu and click the icon for 'no
background colour' it comes up with exactly the dark grey background that
nobody wants.
Any ideas?
Thanks

What version Publisher?

I think it has to do with your Personal Information. What color scheme do you
have there as a default?
That said, open the Color Scheme dialogue. Click on Custom color scheme. Select
Black & White, click Custom color scheme, change the Accent #1 to white.

Are you using the commercial printing options?

I think you are right. My (custom) colorsheme is grey and I it does not allow
me to edit or delete. I will use it for commercial printing.
Any idea of how to change this setting? Thanks

You can delete custom color scheme by going to: (hidden)
C:/Documents and Settings/<user name>/Application Data/Microsoft/Publisher
Rename custcols.scm to custcols.old

Do you have your Windows colour scheme altered such that things that
might normally be white appear grey? This would cause Publisher to
display the page background as grey, even if it did not
print/export-to-web as such.
