Backspace and Delete

When I hit bakspace and delete in powerpoint replace the
test with a rectangle character. I have also found that
when I use my arrow keys that it will put in characters
instead of moving around the document. I have installed
both powerpoint 2000 and 2002 and it happens in both.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix this?

Try a full power-down to cold dead off. Does the problem persist after a
re-boot?

I am having the same problem currently with delete, backspace and arrow keys. I have searched the recommended web help pages though there is nothing - do you have an answer to this FRUSTRATING problem.
