Backup - where is it?

I had Publisher set to Save Auto Recovery info every 10 minutes. I
accidentally exited without saving and lost all the changes I had made.
When I went to doc & set\username\appl data\MS\publisher to find the file
there was nothing there. What did I do wrong & what can I do to prevent
this happening again (besides not exiting without saving!)?

Open Windows explorer, type %temp% in the address bar, if the Publisher document
isn't there then it is gone.
Look for files that have a pub prefix, change the .tmp to .pub.
