BCWS calculated for tasks starting after Status Date

Why are BCWS values calculated for some tasks that have their start dates
after the status date?
I performed an EVA on a project for which the status date was set as June
13, 2005. The BCWS was calculated for only one task (there were several
tasks) whose start date was June 22, 2005. I don't understand why this is
happening and only for one task when there are many other whose start date is
after June 13.

Maybe the non-started tasks haven't been baselined or resourced.

It depends on the baseline start, not start. Is the start the same as
baseline start for these tasks?
