Best method to install Office XP

We are planning to install Office XP prof to 1200 XP pc(s)/laptop(s).
We are currently using Groupwise but next year we will be moving to
Outlook. I know the Office XP pro comes with Outlook.

What is the best method to install Office XP pro for now so I am ready
to install Outlook next year?

I will probably choose Custom Install, check all components except
Outlook.

If I put it as core image (SYSPREP). Will I have any issue later when
I push out Outlook (thru MSI from Office XP)?
