black window

When I try to view embedded videos in PowerPoint, I can
see the video playing fine on the computer monitor, but it
appears as a black box on the projector screen. I am using
a Canon LV-7345 projector. The weird thing is that after I
play the video in Quicktime Player, it comes up fine in
PowerPoint on the projector. Do I need to change the
default player for PowerPoint itself to Quicktime. Even
when I change the file type associations in Windows, I get
the same problems.
