I am running Office 2003 Enterprise Edition on XP SP2. When I try to open an
email with a jpg, jpeg or gif attachment, I get the following error:
"The action is only valid for products that are currently installed."
THese are valid jpgs...I am testing with my own file so I know it is not a
script masqurading as a jpg. I can save the attachments and view them using
the MS fax and picture viewer (the default) but no amount of manipulation
seems to allow me to view them directly from the email. (I even added the
jpg ext as a level2 security file in the registry but that only allows me to
save them...not view them. I suspect someone selected "do not allow this
type of file" on an open dialog box as I don't have any problems
opening/viewing docs, ppts etc...
jpgs, jpegs and gifs are not on my level 1 security list.
Also worth noting, I have removed and reinstalled Office...checked for the
latest updates, repaired argh! I think I have done everything ex=xcept the
little fix that will make this work...someone, anyone?
