Borders on text boxes do not show??

I cannot make the text box borders show no matter what I do. When I select a
color for the text box borders it will not show in the selection box, nor
will it show on the page I am editing. It will however print properly. The
same occurs when I place a rectangle or any other shape on the page - no
border can be shown. Actually, so shading or fill color is shown either.
Any suggestions??

Yes, I resolved it when I went into the Display Properties - Advanced - and
changed (lowered) the Hardware acceleration by two notches. Do this while
you are able to see your document and you will see when the change is
effective.

Thanks for the reply, but it is not a problem of knowing how to manipulate a
text box, but that the box would not show. It was actually a problem with
display properties and lowering the hardware acceleration. Then they showed
up.
