Browse network for hyperlinked file?

Currently, Outlook does not have a browse feature to enable a network file to be
hyperlinked to in an internal email. The process ATM is laborious, requiring
the typing of long pathnames after the file://.

Are there any 3rd party apps or workarounds to avoid typing the pathname in
full, reducing the likelihood of transcription error.
