Bullet Styles

I have searched the archives but can’t find any reference to my exact
problem, which is this…
I am using a Formatting Style called Bulleted. How do I change the spacing
(tabs/indents) of the next level of this style? The only settings I can find
(modify style) are those of the top level. I do not want to create a new
bulleted style as this precludes the use of the tab key to indent to the next
level. If I set the tabs and indents manually and then update the style to
match the selection, all levels of the style adopt this formatting, as you'd
expect. Frustrating. Please help.

Modify your style
Select the Format button and choose Numbering
Select the Bulleted tab and click Customize.

If you are working with multiple levels of bullets, you may want to use
Outline Numbering instead, so that you can set up all of your levels. Just
make sure to assign each to a style (make sure to click the more button to
see all your options).

Aha!! So in order to sucessfully control multi-level BULLETS, I need to
define my Style in terms of multi-level NUMBERING? I had not thought to look
in "Customize Outline Numbered List -> Number Style" for a bullet.
Illogical, but it seems to work.
Thanks for your help.
