bump: "file name or class name not found" launching 2007

Hi: Outlook 2007 (Office Ultimate) on Windows XP sp2 starting giving me this
error on launch a couple days ago:

"A Runtime Error Has Occurred. Do you wish to debug?
Line:297
Error: File name or class name not found during Automation operation"

If I click "no" Outlook opens, and my task reminders pop up. But If I open a
task, change it to "completed" and try to save-and-close, an error pops up
"Not implemented." And from that point on there's no way to save the task.

I ran the repair function in "Add/Remove programs --> Office 2007
Ultimate --> Change --> Repair", and restarted after it completed, but the
problem is still there.

If I open the VS2005 debugger, it traces to this line:

[Outlook:Today]
document.all.dateScript.innerHTML = window.external.GetDate();

with the error:
Microsoft JScript runtime error: File name or class name not found during
Automation operation

Any help would be appreciated!

FWIW: I can open and save tasks, but I can't flag them "completed" If I
select "completed" in the status and click "save and close" an alert comes
up "Not Implemented".
