Bump on an old post and Question about hyperlink to paragraph

OneNote is OneFantastic product. After ~6 months use, I can't imagine life
without it! First my question:

Is there a way to have a paragraph flagged or tagged so I can tell it is
being used as a hyperlink? That way if I modify or delete text in the
paragraph I will know that there is a link to it somewhere else and think
twice about any mods.

Now the bump from an old question about using a thumb drive....

Thanks for the info, Patrick. This “feature†is fantastic. It allows me to
use the same notebooks on my home desktop PC, my work laptop, and my slate
(tablet) pc, and keep the notebooks all up to date and sync'd on each
computer.

OneNote does true synchronization. But if and when it can’t sync, any out of
sync changes that can't be resolved are shown in red so I can choose what to
copy and what not to copy to get everything sync’d up again.

Create one notebook on the thumb drive on one computer. Do not close
that notebook ever! (unless you don't want to use it anymore).
Simply open the notebook on all other computers, again without ever
closing it. You can keep working on the notebook on any computer even if
the thumb drive is not plugged in. OneNote will sync all local changes
back to the thumb drive, once you plug it back in.

Please explain the proper way to set-up OneNote 2007 with multiple computers
and keeping the notebook on a thumb drive. How do you manage the synching in
order to not create a mess of duplicated sections?

What happens when you have a thumb drive with an existing notebook and you
tell OneNote to use that notebook? It appears that rather than switching to
the new file, OneNote writes data from the existing default notebook into the
one on the thumb drive.

What happens when you start OneNote on a computer with the thumb drive file
unavailable but then have the thumb drive available at a later time?

Somehow I ended up with a notebook with two or three separate copies of each
section with slight variations in the name, indicating perhaps the date of
that version. I also had to delete the tables of contents because OneNote
did not see the sections that were present.

You could create and apply a Tag with unique visible formatting for this
purpose, but you would have to remember to apply it to each paragraph when
you create a hyperlink.

Otherwise, ON is pretty good about keeping hyperlinks straight. In the
case of paragraph modification, the hyperlink is to the paragraph, so
changing text within the paragraph should not affect the hyperlink.

Eric - Good idea. Works for me. Thanks.
