business fax

I have a few questions surrounding the "Business Fax" field for Contacts. I
have many contacts that I have entered their fax number into the "Business
Fax" field. When I send an email and I click on the "To:" button and select
"Contacts", it shows not only the contacts' email addresses, but also all
their "Business Faxes" as well. I would imagine that you can purchase some
software that will allow you to fax emails through Outlook when a "Business
Fax" contact is selected as the intended recipient. But we don't have any
such software and would prefer not to see these "Business Fax" entries in
the list. Does anyone know how to prevent these from appearing?

Thanks,
Chris

The standard behavior for the Outlook Address book is to display all
electronic addresses (both fax and e-mail). That behavior cannot be changed.
The only way to prevent the display of fax numbers is to store them in a
different field or to disguise them (e.g., precede them with an alpha
character) so that Outlook won't recognize them as phone numbers.
There are also a number of utilities available that can do this for you
automatically. Some are listed here:
