I would like to know how to make it so if you click something like a button
or image it takes you back a slide or a few.

You can right click any object (or autoshape) and assign an "action setting"
the action setting can be

- jump to a slide
- go back a slide
- forward
- exit
- url

With your object on the slide, right-click it and select "Action Settings".
Click the "Hyperlink to" dropdown and click "Slide". Select the slide to
link back (or forward) to.
