Calculating "relative" costs

Is there any way to calculate resource costs based on % of other costd associated in the project? For example, if I have a resource whose cost is 5% of the total fees charged by an architect. As in Excel, can I link the cost of a resource to another figure, or do I have to perform the calculations in a different program (ie Excel) and link the result back into Project 2003? Thank you in advance for the help.

Hello MJL,

If you want to use Calculated fields, unlike Excel, the MS Project addresses
formulas point on the same row.

If you can program in VBA , there is no limit.

You can also export MS Project data to Excel via a map : File / Save as... /
File Type : Microsoft Excel Workbook(*.xls) and use all the power of Excel
for any calculation.
