calendar copying problem

I am moving my files to a new laptop. The old laptop has win98, the new has XP. I copied the outlook.pst file from the old to the new. Everything seemed to transfer correctly , untill...the new calendar now shows all one day appointments as spanning 24 hrs, instead of the original time allotted. Multi-day appointments seem not to have been affected. Is there a way to copy the file and keep the calendar intact? Thanks.

Check the time zone and daylight saving time setting in both Windows and
Outlook on both computers -- one of these setting is likely off and is
causing your appointments to shift.
