Can a resource sheet be saved to MS Project 2003 Global.MPT file?

B

Bob W.

I have entered a number of commonly used resources into a project resource
sheet and asking if this sheet can be saved to the GLOBAL.MPT file so it is
available for use in future projects? If it can be saved please detail the
steps as so far I have not been successful in trying to save it.

Thanks,

Bob w.

You need to create a Resource Pool file for this purpose. Which means,
you open a new MS Project file, using the resource sheet view create a
new project and enter just the resource details.

This resource file can be then linked with the original project file.
To do this, open your original project as well as the Resource
'Project' file. Then go to to Tools (in either of the project files)
-> Resource sharing -> Share resources, you will see the other project.
Select it and click on ok.

Global .mpt files are generally used for template purposes.

Hope this helps.
