can i change hourly rates to daily rates

I am wanting to change the standard hourly rate of pay to a daily rate of pay
using ms project. For example a employee may earn £300 per day.

When you enter his standard rate, just include the units when you enter it.
If you enter "15" in the rate column, it would be $15 per hour. But if you
enter it "100/day" or "2500/month" or "50000/year" Project will accept and
use those figures. Regardless of how it is entered, the cost is prorated to
an equivalent hourly rate and multiplied by the man-hours of work the
resource performs to come up with the cost for the task in question.
