Currently, I insert a row, then copy and paste. Cumbersome. Anyway to duplicate a row? thanks.

What if you copy the row, and then select copied cells from the insert menu?

Hi Kevs -

I'd sure like to know what type of work you do...

99.9% of the questions on this type of issue are from people looking to
*remove* duplication & you're looking for an easier way to *generate* same:)

Excellent Bob 1 (Greenberg) that did it.

Bob 2 Jones, I do photography and have workbooks with names. Actually this case was instance of a music file with CD's that are spread out over different casstte tapes. Hence need for same row, except with one differnt entry in one column.

You are welcome. I guess I am now Bob 1 Greenberg.

New discovery Bob:
The insert copied cells goes away after one pass.

So if I want to duplicate the row 4 times, I have to deselect and do the copy 4 times. any ideas? thanks.

No - Just select the cells in the number of consecutive rows before you
paste.

think you misunderstood.
I want to basically duplicate one row 4 times, lets say,

So I copy the row,
then
insert copied cells, and that copies once,
the I go back to the view menu to do it again, but now copies cells is gone.

No, you misunderstood:)

If the content is in A17:F17 select & copy as usual. If you want to
duplicate the content into cells A25:F30 select that range of cells before
doing your Insert Copied Cells command.

If you actually meant you want to go from one row to another separate,
non-contiguous row & repeatedly use Insert Copied Cells then No, you can't
do that. The only suggestion I can offer is to use the regular Paste command
instead instead - once you copy, select the first cells to paste into, them
use Control+I followed by return followed by Command+V & repeat the process
in as many distinct locations as necessary. (IOW, Insert Copied Cells isn't
as directly related to Paste as it would seem.)
