Can I find out more detail about differences before I accept them?

Wizards I need some help!
I have set up some external tasks between 2 projects, one master project one
slave. When I open the master project I am notified of differences made in
the other project and given the option to accept. Before I accept I would
like to see what the before date was i.e. what is the difference. All I am
told is the new/after date. Is there a way to get more detail? i.e. I would
like to know 'hey this is 100 days later!'.

It just seems limited in what it says.

Provided you have saved a baseline, compare current date with Baseline date.
If you have a key date in mind, then add a Deadline to the task.
Alternatively delete the link and use manual methods to update the link (yes
this will involve communicating with other parties!! )

Yes you can't beat manual collaboration. I'll try the deadline suggestion.
